Flying Saucer Draught Emporium in Raleigh

Great beer, great staff, great location. What more could you want? I appreciate their huge number of beers on tap which still avoids the obscene selection of other bars in town *coughRaleighBeerGardencough*. At the Saucer, you feel that you're choosing from carefully curated beers, courtesy of a staff that knows their business. Despite the large crowds they draw, the bartenders and servers manage to learn your name and make you feel welcome. Not to mention the BEST baked pretzel you'll find.

Decent food, great beer, and on our first visit we had excellent service. Definitely will come back next time we're in Raleigh. I wish I could remember the names of the two people that waited on us. Those ladies were top-notch. Also, the decoration and furniture for the place are just awesome

Yeah, yeah. It’s a chain with a decent reputation, but they seriously had me at the Turkey Meltdown with hot German Potato salad. Incredible and very attentive staff who were totally on top of our very large group. Come for the beer, but stay for the service, food and libations.An Addendum: So, I’m not a beer drinker at all, but on my final night in town, I really just wanted a bit to eat and a few drinks. So, on shift was “beer-tender” Jack. The man was generous, affable as well as a fount of beer knowledge. As I sat and got a verbal history lesson of beers that I might like, I also got ample amounts of samples that were very much to my liking. So, the next time you drop in, see if Jack is working. I promise he’ll find you something to soothe your pallet. And tell him the guy from Jersey Boys says hello!

I can't have gluten so I absolutely love any place that offers different flavored ciders. :-) My only complaint was that our waitress seems to be lacking in any personality. She wasn't mean or anything, but she also wasn't what I would call polite.

The beers have been incredible and the atmosphere is truly unique! Not super crowded on a Saturday afternoon which is an added bonus.

Good food even though didn't seem to have many options. Huge beer list with beers on tap and in bottles. Love looking at all the plates on the walls and ceiling. Great atmosphere and location downtown.

Good to re-visit one of the "original" craft beer emporiums.. Waaaay too many brews to taste, lol. Great sandwiches and superior service

This is the place to go on town if you love beer. So many options. Cool environment. Plenty of outdoor seating. French Dip is probably the best thing on the menu. The other items on menu are OK/average. This is a bar with food not a restaurant to go for a great meal. You go here for great beer and a cool spot to hang out. Gets a little loud when busy. But, I'm old. #getoffmylawn!

Great and really unique atmosphere. If you like beer then this is a place to stop. They have a wall full of taps. Food was good.

Decent "beer hall" feel with a large selection of draft and bottles beer, including some hard to gets. Food is decent. Things tend to break down on service if you're not sitting at the bar. Hard to get servers' attention and keep it. Usually more efficient to get your own beers from the bar if it's busy.

Good service. Great atmosphere. The craft beer selection is unparalleled. One day I'll get my name on one of those plates...

I love the atmosphere: friendly, neighborhood-based pub with a terrific array of beers and comfort food. I visited the location in Raleigh at least twice a week for over a year, and thoroughly enjoyed those visits.

They're soft pretzels and queso are delicious! Service from bar staff was amazing. Definitely going again.

I'm somewhat of a regular customer, and went to lunch here with some friends. Long story short they got my receipt wrong twice, and charged me double for what I ordered. When I told them that they had charged me incorrectly, I was told to calm down to which I was confused and shocked to hear. The waitress's manager/trainer was frustrated at me for a mistake that the restaurant had made. I would have tipped because I understand mistakes happen, but I could not justifying paying for their service for their confrontational attitude directed at me. I will say that the most employees I run into there are kind. Food is average. I only go here because it's close to work.

Always a great time and amazing beer here. An RDU staple that must be experienced.

Love love love! I love a good draft beer. The bartender was very knowledgeable about their selection. They made great reccomendations bases on my preferences. The walls are covered with personalized plates, which are the trophies of those who have had 200 beers. I can see how they have earned such a large regular following. They regularly bring in new beers, they play great music, and a great atmosphere. The picture below is only 1/3 of the tap wall. Tuesday nights are trivia night. Regular trivia starts at 7, adult trivia starts at 930. Will definitely join the hoard of regulars.

I come here because my brother is trying get a plate on the ceiling. Trivia nights are fun. Food is just mediocre bar food with clever names. Service can be slow at times, so it really depends on who you get as your server.

I had a lovely evening with my friends, the food and beer was really good. I would recommend the outdoors area be divided into smoking and non smoking halves. Because I wanted to enjoy the outdoors but the smoke smell from surrounding guests ruined the ambience for me. But overall I would highly recommend you try this place out atleast once.

My pizza was great. The toppings of choice were bacon and avacado. I also had the buffalo wings. The wings were good. My food was served in a timely manner during rush hour. The waitress was average nothing good nor bad to say about her.

Visited for the first time yesterday. We loved the atmosphere. The service was top notch. The food was pretty good. The pretzel was bomb. My favorite beer was the Left Hand Flamingo Dreams Nitro Berry Blonde.

Taco pizza is heckin’ amazing

Outstanding. I was specifically interested in trying a beer brewed from Japanese Hops. They had the "Brooklyn Sorachi Ace" which I had watched a show about on the Food Network. What a great and unique beer! Almost a meal unto itself. I went simple with the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Nice pairing and though I was there specifically to try that beer, the food was good too! Will be back.

Beer was good, lots on draft. The tortilla chips were not the best I've had, but the salsa was good and the queso was so-so. I had a margarita that was good, not the worst, not a Joe's (in Same Barbara).

The beer selection is amazing and they have the best nachos in town. The rest of the menu is solid too!

Loved the vibe here. Big tables and an even bigger selection of beer. Next time I come through Raleigh I will definitely stop by. I came in for a quick bite and a drink. The food was good (I had a veggie pita option) and the service prompt and friendly. There are several TVs throughout and there’s a nice big patio outside for when the weather is nice. Highly recommend.

Good vibes and plenty of beer to choose from. They also have a challenge here where if you drink 100 different beers you get a plate that you get to personalize and put up on the wall.

They have the best draft beer selection in Raleigh. That is true despite the fact that the world record for best draft selection in the world is (hopefully still) held by another establishment in Raleigh

Came in late on a Friday with some coworkers. Unfortunately something came up and I couldn’t stay long, but our server was super friendly and welcoming. Masks are required for entry at most restaurants downtown. There was a difficult couple in front of me, not wearing masks, waiting to be sat. The sign out front and the rules are simple. I applaud the hostess that night for her professionalism and for enforcing mandatory safety guidelines set by our local and state government. I look forward to visiting Flying Saucer again in the near future.
